Siros is a Greek island in the Cyclades which is situated 78 nautical miles south-east of Athens.

The island is consists of two significant towns namely the Ermoupoli and the Ano Syros. Ermoupoli is called the “Queen of the Cyclades” and it has neo-classical buildings, mansions, and white houses. The Ano Syros on the other hand is a town serviced mostly by marble steps. Siros’ economy depends on the commerce of fabrics, silk, ship building, leather and iron since 1830. Today, the island has seven elementary schools, four gymnasiums, two technical schools and the Aegean University.

Siros has beautiful landscapes which vary from farming areas to hills. Miaouli Square which is surrounded by stores and cafes is found in the center of the island. Among the wonderful and placid beaches of Siros are Galissas, Possidonia, Vari, Kini, and Megas Gialos. These beaches are located at the southern part of Siros.
