Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea which is divided into six districts namely, Nicosia, Ammochostos, Keryneia, Larnaka, Lemesos, and Pafos. In history, Cyprus is the crossroad between Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. It is considered as a transcontinental island. The central plain Mesaoria with Kyrenia and Pentadactylos mountains are found in the north and the Troodos mountain range to the south and west. The climate in Cyprus is temperate with dry summers and variably rainy winters.
Its economy is prosperous and has diversified for in the recent years. It became the basis for several offshore businesses because of its highly developed infrastructure. People in Cyprus share many customs but was able to maintain separate ethnic identities based on religion, language, and close ties with their individual motherlands.
