A Visit to Roskilde

RoskildeWelcome to Roskilde, an ancient city in Denmark that dates from the Viking Age. It is considered as the economic center of the region. Roskilde is composed of pedestrian streets with amazing myriad shops, restaurants and cozy cafes that run down the center of the city. There are also a lot of tourist spots in the city which are great venues for family getaway and recreations.

           Roskilde Cathedral is among the most visited places in the city. It is said to be the only cathedral in Zealand until the 20th century. There is also the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde. And the museum features five well-preserved remains of the Viking ships that were excavated from the nearby Roskilde Fjord during the late 1960s.

           The Roskilde Festival is also one of the events which are sought by most tourists. It is considered as the biggest rock/pop festivals in the continent. The profits of this festival are given to the charities in the city.
