A state in the easternmost Austria, Burgenland is made up two Statutarstadte and seven districts. It is said to be the seventh largest of the nine provinces in Austria. The state has a long border and it also share with Hungary one lake without natural outflow in Europe which is the Neusiedler See. Burgenland is famous for its well made wine.

The state borders the provinces of Niederosterreich and Steiermark to west, Slovakia to the northeast, Hungary to the east and to the farthest south, it borders Slovenia. The state’s assembly has 36 seats and its provincial government is said to be a coalition of the SPO and the OVP. Burgenland was inhabited during the Stone Age and during the Roman Empire it formed the core of the province of Pannonia. The territory of the current Burgenland was the western border-zone of Hungary until the year 1920. It has a remarkable Burgenland Croat and Magyar populations inhabiting in it.
