It is a three day music festival which runs during the third week of June. It features advanced music and multimedia art. It is composed of artists and professionals in music and modern arts.

Sonar in daytime is usually held in the Center of Contemporary Culture and Museum of Contemporary Art. It begins during the midday and continues until 10 in the evening. They show live concerts, DJs, Record and clothes fair, and cinemas.

Sonar by night is held in more than 10,000 meters open-air areas. During this night, DJs and VDJs air a wide range of dance music and these are heard all together in the 4 areas.
