Rhone River is simply one of the major rivers found in Europe and it runs through Switzerland and France. Rhone is a torrent and it eventually becomes a great mountain river which runs through Switzerland in a glacier valley. Just before the railroads and highways, Rhone was a very significant inland trade and transportation route which connects Arles, Avignon, Valence, Vienne and Lyon to the ports of Fos, Marseille and also to Sete.

The Rhone River is well known for its strong current when the fast flowing river carries large quantities of water. The current that is created by the water speeds up to 10 kilometer per hour and the river locks are well-maintained and are operated everyday from 5 in the morning up to 9 in the evening.
