An ancient city in northern Ukraine, Chernihiv is the capital of the Chernihiv Oblast which has a total population of about 295,500.Chernihiv

Chenihiv is a historical city of the country and is well maintained by its residents. The earliest residential buildings in the downtown were dated in the late 17th century which was the period when a Cossack regiment was deployed in the city. Mazepa House which is the city’s former mansion used to be the place of the regiment’s chancellory. There is also the archbishop’s residence in Chernihiv which was built in the 1780s.

The city also serves as the seat of bishopric or archbishopric. You can also visit other historical places in Chernihiv which are found in Kozelets and Hustynya where you can see samples of Ukrainian national architecture.  The place is served by Chernihiv Shestovista Airport which would definitely within reach by the tourists and city’s visitors.
