Lisburn is simply a home to many significant political, civil, and military bodies with associated infrastructure.
Its name is derived from the Irish word lios which means “fort of the gamblers” and the word burn refers to the original town land and to the river Lagan where apon is located. Lisburn has a total population of about 71,465. The humble city is made up of rural farming area and the council area is composed of Moira, Glenavy, Dunmurry, and Drumbo.
The city is also known to be the birthplace of the Irish linen industry. It was established by Louis Crommelin and other Huguenots. It then became a city in the year 2002 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the honored Queen Elizabeth II. Lisburn us a famous shopping center with various retail outlets in the town center and in the out-of-town Sprucefield and Sprucefield Park centers. Spending a day shopping in Lisburn would be more fulfilling or much enjoyable than shopping to other shopping countries.
