Known as a municipality in Copenhagen County on the southern coast of island of Amager in eastern Denmark, Dragor covers an area of 18 square kilometers and the town has a total population of 13,156.
Dragor’s neighboring municipality is Tarnby, Oresund and Koge Bay. The town was among the few municipalities in the country which was not affected with the Municipality Reform done on January 1, 2007. It has numerous preserved historical buildings. Many tourists visit the place for it has a cozy, picturesque maze of the alleys with vibrant houses with red roofs designed in the traditional Danish style.
The town quickly grew as a fishing port as it was founded in the 12th century and it was in the year 1370 when the Hanseatic league was granted some trade privileges in Dragor. As time passes by, the town continued to grow as the home of the largest fishing fleet in Denmark.
