
Situated in the River Meuse in the Belgian province of Namur, Belgium, Dinant is a municipality which includes the old communes of Anseremme, Bouvignes-sur-Meuse, Dregance, Falmagne, Falmignoul, Foy-Notre-Dame, Furfooz, Lisogne, Sorinnes and Thynes.
The city was already populated in Neolithic, Celtic, and also Roman times. If you to roam around the city, you can see lots of wonderful places and landmarks just like the Collegiate Church of Notre Dame which was rebuilt in Gothic style, above the church is the vertical flank of the rocher surmounted by the fortified Citadel which was made in the 11th century to be able to control the Meuse valley, and the city also has the Rocher Bayard which could have been split by the giant hoof Bayard.
There are also delicious foods in the city such as the couque which is made up of honey-sweetened flavor and is impressed with a carved wooden mold just before it is baked. Among the prominent people who lived in Dinant are Adolphe Sax who invented the saxophone, and Andre Buzin who was an artist and also a stamp designer.
