Enjoying Puck Fair

Puck FairThe Puck Fair is usually held on Killorglin. The fair is among the oldest and longest celebrated affair in Ireland.

It is done on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of August and there is a 12-hour family street entertainment during the celebration. Part of the activities in the festival include the traditional horse fair, open air night concerts, long but enchanting parade and coronation of wonderful King Puck, fireworks display, beautiful dancing displays, vibrant street entertainers, and numerous children’s competitions.

It is said that the celebration would worth in excess of €6,000,000 in the local economy. There are about 100,000 people who come and visit in the said fair. The people who come and witness the event came from different nationalities. Some of the local people who drop by are the Europeans and the Americans. Thus, the coming of different people in the place makes the celebration an international festivity.
