Known as one of the 20 regions of Italy, Lombardy is the capital of Milan. It is said to be one of the global economy with a total of $400 billion GDP. Lombardy is simply regarded as one of the three richest regions in Europe.
Its economy is based on manufactures like iron and steel, cars, mechanic components, chemical products, textiles, furniture, leather shoes and many more. Â Some of its agricultural products are cereals, vegetables, fruit trees and mulberries. About one-sixth of the Italian populations (9.5 million) live in the region.
There are also places in Lombardy which are regarded as UNESCO World Heritage Sites just like the Church and Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Crespi d’Adda and the rock drawings in Valcamonica. There are also monuments and national parks in Lombardy which tourists love to visit. The different communities in the region are also said to have remarkable and historical places and landmarks.
