Tripoli is another wonderful and historical city of Greece. Its main section is enclosed around the castle walls that were strongly built during the Ottoman habitation in the country. Tripoli is surrounded by tall pine trees and fertile lands are seen everywhere in the city. There are also wetlands in the northeast part of Tripoli. It is the largest city in the prefecture and is among the few growing places in Arcadia. During the middle ages, Tripoli was known as Drobolitsa.
Some of the communes to visit in the city are the Agios Vasileios, Evandro, Thana, Makri, Pallantino, Pelagos, Perthori, and Skopi. The places near the city are the Chania, Milea, Steno, and Tegea. Tripoli is currently the seat of the founded University of Peloponnesos which has two departments of the Sciences and Technology School and a department of the Economics and Administration School.
