Going Luhansk

Welcome to the administrative center the predominantly Russian-speaking Luhansk Oblast! Luahnsk is simply the home of FC Zorya Luhansk which is currently playing in the premier league Ukrainian annual football championship.

It currently has a population of about 445,900 and the city was founded in 1795 when Charles Gascoigne who was a British industrialist had found a metal factory in Luhansk. It then started the promising industry of the city and in the year 1882, Luhansk had achieved the status of city.

The city was incredibly developed by Soviet authorities to an important industrial center of the Eastern Europe and specifically a home to a well known locomotive-building company. It was formerly called as Voroshilovgard and it was only on May 4, 1990 when its name was returned to the historical name of the city which is Luhansk. Get a glimpse on how the people live in the city and how they are able to develop all through the years by spending some time in Luhansk.
