
The Lowlands is a kind of music festival in Netherlands. It is held every August and it is said to be among the biggest and most famous music festivals in the country. Having about 60,000 visitors every year, the Lowlands is also called as A Campingflight to Paradise. It is held in Biddinghuizen which is close to the Walibi World amusement park.
The festival features alternative, pop, rock, dance and hip hop music. And aside from this variety of music, there are also other activities and attractions in the festival. There are indoor and outdoor cinema, stand-up comedy, street theatre and theatre. The music festival was first organized in November 1967 and was first called as A Flight to Lowlands Paradise.
It was in the year 1993 when Willem Venema organized the music festival as A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise. There are a lot of tourists who drop by to the place and celebrate the unique festival with the locals in the area.
