Aside from being a wealthy and nature- blessed country, Cyprus has also lots of celebrations done in a year. One of these festivities is the Anthestiria Festival.

Anthestiria Festival is a festivity of spring and nature’s rebirth. People in Cyprus usually conduct a parade of flower floats and they bring with them beautiful and fresh flowers. They march to Poseidon Avenue and they fill with flowers the old harbor of Paphos. The celebration started in the ancient Greek times where feasts were organized in Athens once every four years in commemorating Dionysus, the god of theater and parties.

It is a festival of souls and plants. Nature’s beauty is celebrated in the flower festival and this is usually done in Limassol. Lots of flowers and plants are exhibited in the area. Witnessing such festivity would surely be a fun and exciting experience to the tourists. It is a time to celebrate both life and nature.
