Sizzling Europe

A country which has the motto “For Fatherland and Freedom,” Latvia is a spectacular country found in Northern Europe.

Latvia is situated on eastern shore of the Baltic Sea and it lies in East European Plain. It is composed of fertile, low-lying plains, largely covered by lush forest and mostly pines. The country has humid, continental and temperate climate which provides warm-water ports and water to more than 3,000 lakes and over 12,000 flowing rivers. Among the major rivers in Latvia are the Daugava, Lielupe, Gauja and the Salaca.

The country has one of the highest (GDP) growth rates in Europe since 2000 and it has a fast growing economy due to domestic consumption, finance of a serious increase of private debt and negative foreign trade balance all of which serve as driving forces to uplift the country’s economy. Latvia became a member state of the European Union since the year 2004.
