Sizzling Europe

Music has become part of the people’s lives. In Netherlands, there are multiple musical traditions that are followed by musicians as well as by the listeners. Most of these traditions are related to German and Belgian music. There are also Indonesian and Portugal influences in the Dutch music.

It was in the early 90’s when numerous Dutch DJs had developed a cool style of techno music which they call gabber. This form of music was developed in reaction to the commercialization of the famous house music and it was influenced mainly by the hardcore from Frankfurt and New York.

The country is also well known for its symphonic metal bands like the Within Temptation, The Gathering, After Forever and the Epica. These bands became famous and successful during the late 90’s. Gorefest, Pestilence, Asphyx and Sinister were also among the famous bands that became successful in and outside the continent.
