Odessa: the Fourth Largest City in Ukraine

Welcome to Odessa which is a major seaport on the Black Sea and is the largest port in the wonderful country of Ukraine.

In 1819 to 1958 the city was a free port and in the Soviet period, it was the most significant port of trade in USS and also a Soviet naval base. Odessa is a magnificent warm water port but it has limited military value. Possessing a spirit of freedom and ironic humor, Odessa accepts and tolerates people of various backgrounds. Odessa has a historical architecture which has a touch of Mediterranean and has been influenced with French and Italian styles.

The city is located on terraced hills which overlooks a small harbor. Odessa has a mild and dry climate. Among the nationalities that inhabit the place are Ukrainians, Russians, Greeks, Jews, Moldovans, Bulgarians, Armenians, Georgians, Germans, and Koreans. There are also therapeutic resorts found in the city which are well known to many tourists.
