Tolmin is a magnificent city which is the economic, cultural, and administrative center of the Upper Soca valley and also an enchanting city of Slovenia.

Long time ago, Tolmin is said to be a rebellious land in fact in the World War I, it served as a base for the victorious breach of the Soca/Isonzo Front. The city’s special features are its town center, modern sports park and also it has a thousand year old castle ruins located at Kozlov Rob. The most exquisite monument that can be seen in Tolmin is the church of the Holy Spirit situated at Javorca.

Tolmin also has remarkable ravines and basins. Among the famous basins found in the city are the Tolminka and Zadlascica that can be seen at the entrance to Triglav National Park. The Tolminka has a thermal spring found at the end of the path. The city is blessed with beautiful waterfalls and wonderful caves which can be visited under the guidance of good and well-experienced cavers.
