Savoring the Polish Cuisine

A mixture of the Slavic, Jewish and foreign culinary traditions, Polish cuisine uses a fair variety of ingredients. The country is said to be rich in meat especially in pork. The Polish cuisine has also other cuisines which are related to Slavic cuisines in making use of kasza and other cereals.Polish Cuisine

Their typical lunch is made up of at least three courses which start with a soup like barszcz or zurek. It is then followed by appetizers like salmon or herring which is often prepared with cream, oil or vinegar. There are also other appetizers like meats, vegetables or fish in aspic. Their main course is their national dish which is called bigos made up of cabbage with pieces of meat that is mostly pork or they also have kotlet schabowy which is a breaded pork cutlet.

There are also other yummy Polish delicacies just like chlodnik which is a chilled beet or fruit soup, golonka, Â zrazy, sacedom and flaczi.
