Jesenice is among the historical cities in Slovenia. It is situated on the Slovene side of the Karavanke mountain range which is in the southern part of Austria.
Jesenice is well-known for the biggest Slovenian steel making company and also to its ice hockey club called Acron Jesenice. It is currently undergoing massive urban reconstruction. There are already two shopping malls built and a new city hall. In the declaration of Slovenian independence, the city did not depend more on the metallurgic industry and it is currently developing in some areas of economy.
The beautiful places to visit in Jesenice are The Museum of the steel production, Kos mansion house gallery, and for sports lover people, there is the Hockey hall. Tourists can also go to Planina pod Golico where one can see swathes of white narcissi in springtime. There are also two high school institutions in the city. These are the ZIC or the Zelezarski Izobrazevalni Center and the Gimnazija Jesenice.
