Known as the capital of Regierungsbezirk Unterfranken, Wurzburg is a city found in the region of Franconia that lies in the northern tip of Bavaria, Germany.
Being a host to the Us Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Infantry Division, US Army Hospital and other US military units who have maintained a presence in the country, the city’s economy has benefited greatly from US military existence. The city is divided into 13 municipalities and Wurzburg is also known as the administrative center of the country. Wurzburg serves as an important hub in the country’s regional rail network.
Among the wonderful sites in the city is the Wurzburg Residenz which is a wide complex on the eastern edge of the town which was commissioned by two prince-bishops. There is also the Fortress Marienberg which is the castle found on a hill across the Old Main Bridge. The Haus zum Falken is also a beautiful façade which keeps a tourist office.
