The city also has its historic center which is called the Grande Ile which was listed by the UNESCO in 1998 as a World Heritage Site.
The city’s name simply means “town of roads” and it is located on the Ill River. There are also many beautiful bridges in the Strasbourg and it is also famous for its sandstone Gothic Cathedral.
