DelphiA modern town in Greece, Delphi is situated on the south-western of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis.

During the ancient time, Delphi was the most important oracle where it became the site for worship of Gaia. In the entrance of the site, one could see a number of votive statues and many treasures. These structures were made by the different states celebrate victories and to thank the oracle for her advice. The most remarkable of these is the Athenian Treasury which was made to celebrate the Athenians’ victory on the Battle of Marathon. Delphi then became a de-facto Central Bank of Ancient Greece due to these treasuries.

Modern Delphu is located west of the archaeological site. The main streets found in the place are the Itea and Arachova. The place also has a school, lyceum, and a beautiful square. There are also other historical landmarks and treasure to be seen in Delphi and most tourists would go to the place to get a glimpse on the historically rich area.
