It is among the cornerstones of the Italian cuisine and is widely eaten in Italy than the pasta. Minestrone is called by the Italians as cucina povera which means poorer people’s cuisine.

Minestrone usually varies on traditional cooking times, available ingredients, and season. It also ranges from a thick and dense texture to a more brothy soup. In the modern times, the long storage life of canned goods and broths are the key for minestrone based on stock or broth than the simple water.
