The Belarusians are fond of eating sour rye bread and they also love their most traditional hard drink which is the harelka- closely related to Russian vodka. People from Belarus are proud of their big variety of bliny or pancakes with different thickness, plain and filled and are composed of wheat or buckwheat flour butthey also use oatmeal. Their main vegetable was cabbage, beets, turnips, Swedes, parsnip and carrots.

Their traditional dinner is made up of just two dishes, a soup and a main course. they have their traditional drink that includes biarozavik which is a fermented birch sap, thick saladukha which is made of rye floor and honey and the traditional jelly drink which they call kisiel. The cuisine of Belarus owes much to the Jewish cooking for the Jews had a virtual monopoly on inn-keeping in the country for many centuries.
