Arden became a municipality in North Jutland County on Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. It has a total population of 8,513.
Arden was created in the year 1970 because of a municipality reform which combined Astrup, Store Arden, Oue-Valsgaard, Rold-Vebbestrup and Rostrup municipalities. The municipality’s last mayor was Hans Christian Maarup who was a member of the Social Democrats political party. It was on January 1, 2007 when it ceased to exist because of the result of the Municipality Reform of 2007.
It is located south of the city of Aaalborg and north of Randers. The municipality was first named Hesselholt but it then changed its name when the Jutland railroad had reached the city on the 1870s. Arden is located on the southern outskirt of the country’s largest forest which is the Rold Skov. The forest is a well known attraction of the municipality and it gives an envigorating feeling to every visitor.
