October means Oktoberfest in Germany, which is the largest beer festival in the world. It is an organized event where a variety of beers are available for tasting and purchase.

The festival’s popularity increases thus many tourists come to the place and share the laughter and fun with the organizers of the festival. There are also other countries and places which celebrate Oktoberfest. The festival is generally taken to mean for the Munich event. There are also smaller beer festivals in the country which are very common and it takes place throughout the year in bigger cities of Germany. Beer festivals in the country are also referred to as carnivals and are known as Volksfest.

Hannover and Bremen are major cities in Germany which host a large beer festival and the traditional beer festival is called Freimarkt. There us also the Bavarian festival called Gaubodenvolksfest in Straubing. It is very similar with Oktoberfest yet it has its own history and it is definitely not a copy of the Oktoberfest.
