The cuisine of Ukraine is said to have a rich history and it also offers a wide range of dishes. Their cuisine is influenced by German, Turkish and Polish cuisines. The major part of the Ukrainian cuisine is the meat, vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, berries and herbs. Their food is usually filling and is served in large quantities.
Among their traditional dishes is Borscht which is a vegetable soup, Hrybivka- a mushroom soup, Kapusniak, Yushka, Vushka or holushky which are triangular dumplings which are sometimes stuffed with mushrooms. The bread and wheat products also play a big role in the country’s cuisine. They have pyrohy or fried dumplings, varenyky, cabbage rolls, mlyntsi, stuffed duck or goose and a lot more.
Their desserts are delicious and are made with passion just like the kutia which is made up of poppy seeds, wheat, nuts, honey and other delicacies, pampushky, syrniki or fried curd fritters, cake and zhele or jellied fruits.
