
The Basque cuisine is a well known kind of cooking done by the people from Spain and France. It pertains to the different ways of cooking meats and fish. The cuisine includes grilled fish and meat over hot coals, marmitako and lamb stews, cod, beans dishes of the delicious Tolosa and wine Txakoli and the Gipuzkoan cider.
The cuisine is said to have been influenced by the abundance of produce from the country’s sea on one side and the lush Ebro valley on the other side. It is also implied that the cuisine and the kitchen are the heart of the culture of Basque. There are some Basque restaurants and noted influence of the cuisine to some local cuisines such as in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Boise, Idaho and Bakersfield, California. Among the typical dishes of the Basque cuisine are the Pintxos, Elvers, Cuajada, Piperade, Wood pigeon, pisto and a lot more.
