Lazio is a remarkable region in Italy because of its history, art, architecture, archaeology, religion and culture. It is divided into five provinces namely, Frosinone, Latina, Rieti, Rome and Viterbo.

The region’s main sources of income are agriculture, crafts, animal husbandry and fishery. Among the crops and products of the country are wine grapes, fruit, vegetables and olives. About 73% of the working population is in the services sector. There are numerous national and multinational corporations, public and private which have their headquarters in the region.

When it comes to industry, the industrial development in the region is limited to the areas south of Rome. There are firms which are small to medium in size that operate in the building and building materials, paper, petrochemical, textile, engineering, automobile, electronic and electrotechnical sectors. The distribution of the population in Lazio is influenced mainly by Rome where 55% of the total population is concentrated.
