Skive is a beautiful municipality in Region Midtjylland at the base of Salling Peninsula which is a part of the larger Jutland peninsula in northwest Denmark.

It is a coastal tourist resort which is located at the mouth of the Karup River and the Skive Fjord. It has a total population of 48,368 and its current mayor is FLemming Eskildsen. Before the reform, the town was said to be part of Viborg County. Skive was emerged with the existing Sallingsund, Spottrup and Sundsore municipalities to form the new Skive municipality. The municipality is connected to the town of Sundstrup through the Virksund Bridge.
There are a lot of beautiful places to visit in Skive. There is the 14th century Spottrup Castle which underwent extensive repairs in the 1940s and it then opened as a museum and a medicinal herb garden. Skive Art Museum is also visited in the municipality and it houses a wide collection of modern Danish art with special interest in expressive landscapes and also the New Realism painting.
